In-School Make a Chess Move Program
The Make a Chess Move (MACM) In-School Program delivers enrichment programs in school and after-school, including chess teams and clubs. Currently, MACM delivers school-year programs at six Denver-metro schools. The MACM curriculum is an 8-week program that teaches knowledge, skills, and reasoning through Chess. The lesson plans focus on an enduring understanding of grit, compassion, critical-thinking, and ethics to enable students to make their next move their best move.

Pushin’ Pawns Program
The MACM Pushin’ Pawns Program is an after-school program for youth ages 8-14 at our offices where youth learn the game of chess and the Make a Chess Move Curriculum focusing on Social-Emotional Learning. Programming is youth-led and offered 4 days per week.

Spring Breakout Program
The MACM Spring Breakout Program provides teens with programming over spring break week. Workshops are 4 days per week for 4 hours per day (16 hours total). The program is for youth between the ages of 10 and 15 youth and delivered in East Denver. MACM youth who are coming back from college or youth who successfully completed the MACM Facilitator Incubator Program lead these workshops.

Facilitator Incubator Program
The MACM Facilitator Incubator Program delivers a 10-week summer co-facilitator training program in East Denver that serves 30 youth (Ages 16-24) 4 days a week for 4 hours per day (160 hours total) and includes workshops and weekly field trips. This program develops young leaders from youth who have participated in foundational MACM programming.
